The troop will be camping at Camp Conley Clark April 4th – 6th to welcome our new Scouts and work on some basic Scouting Skills.
We will depart from the Scout House at Unity Presbyterian Church on Friday at 5:30pm sharp. When we return on Sunday at approximately 12:00 noon, Scouts will call for pickup when we are about a half hour away. (If this time is during Sunday Service at Unity, we meet at the Post Office next door.)
All Scouts attending need complete payment of $20.00 – either in cash or you can use the Paypal link below (transaction fee of $0.90 added to the total), Camp Conley Clark Campout Permission Slip and current medical forms Parts A & B
Scouts need to eat prior to departure Friday and may want to bring a snack for Friday night. Cooks have been assigned for Saturday Breakfast, Saturday Supper and Sunday Breakfast. Scouts who are currently working on their Cooking Merit Badge will provide Saturday Lunch.
New Scout parents: If you have questions about what to bring or what not to bring, please stop in at Monday’s meeting and we can provide some details.
The annual Unity work day is scheduled for Saturday, March 29th (with a rain date of April 12th). This is a great way to show Unity how much we appreciate their support of our Troop as well as earn service hours.
The day will begin at 8:00 am and we hope to be finished before noon. Show up in your activity uniform (troop t-shirt) and sign up at the table at the front of the historic sanctuary. Make sure that any tools that you bring are marked with your name so you’ll get them back.
It is absolutely fine if you can’t commit to the entire morning, but we certainly hope you will spend some of your morning with us. We do need as many hands as possible to make this a success!
NOTE THAT WE WILL BE WORKING ON SUNDAY ONLY DUE TO THE WET CONDiTIONS ON SATURDAY.
Dylan Harllee’s Eagle project will continue this coming Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting. Plans are to meet at the dairy barn on Saturday and Sunday at 1pm. We will be concentrating on painting the metal stairs inside the silo, so dress appropriately.
Contact Dylan if you have any questions or need additional information.
Boy Scouts of America has made some changes to the BSA Health Form that we have to have completed by a doctor each year.
The “All Scouting Events” download at the link below gets you Parts A and B. The “Are you going to Camp?” download gets you Parts A, B, and C (which is required for those attending scouting events over 72 hours in length).
There is additional info for the high adventure camp requirements.
Work will continue on Dylan Harllee’s Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project on Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at 10am.
Those interested in helping out should wear old clothes and show up at the back side of the dairy barn on Saturday.

Ben has surveyed the project site and accesses and though the driveways and walkways are icy, the project is still a “go”.
The project leader asks that you come to the school using the bus entrance because the regular school entrance is very icy and hilly.
Please use your own judgment and drive and walk carefully. We look forward to seeing you at Fort Mill Middle School today.

Dylan Harllee needs the help of some scouts who would like to assist in doing some needed repairs to the viewing silo at the Anne Springs Close Greenway. The silo that you’d be working on would be the one pictured on the right in the above picture. Dylan’s project is to replace the decking of the viewing platform at the top of the silo and the prep and paint the metal stairs leading up to that platform from ground level.

It was a great pleasure to spend some time with the members of Unity Presbyterian Church at their early service as part of Scout Sunday 2014. We are so fortunate to have a sponsoring organization that is so supportive of scouting and can see it for what it really is, yet another outreach ministry of the church. Thank you Unity Presbyterian Church!

Troop 108 will attend the early worship service of Unity Presbyterian Church, our sponsoring organization, at 8:30am on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014. All troop members are encouraged to attend in full uniform.
