Scouts BSA Troop 108, Fort Mill, SC

[SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”beachsweep2011603775760″]

We will be meeting at 12:45pm on Friday with the intent of pulling out of the Scout Hut parking lot at 1pm. Scouts should bring enough money to eat on the way up (we may be going to Golden Corral), money to spend at the trading post while at the event and some for a breakfast on the way back.
New ordeal candidates should refer to the information on this page for specifics that they should follow.
It will be a fun and memorable weekend, and what a pleasure to have so many folks from Troop 108 atteding an OA function!

Here is a picture of Troop 108’s contingent to the Skyuka Lodge Summer Ordeal 2011.
The Falcon Patrol demonstrated how to use the Marlin Spike Hitch to make a rope ladder at tonight’s meeting. Great job, guys!

The troop yard sale was a big success. Much thanks goes out to everyone who donated items or worked the sale itself!
The scouts are enjoying a great weekend of skeet shooting at Camp Bagwell. Gary W. won a nice pocket knife during first 3-shot shoot off. Alex H. won a matching knife in the second 3-shot competition. Derek S. rounded out the three-shot competition winners by winning a camping vittle kit.
We are lucky that Camp Bagwell has an air conditioned place where we were able to take refuge from the afternoon heat.

Start gathering those items that you’re ready to part with and plan on donating them to the Troop 108 yard sale that is scheduled for July 30th, 2011. The troop will host a yard sale to help boost our coffers as we look toward the purchase of a larger trailer to carry our troop gear to campouts and outings. We need your “stuff” and could also use your help in running the yard sale on the 30th.
We will also be collecting gently used uniforms for both cub scouts and boy scouts to go into our uniform closets to help make sure that uniforming isn’t a barrier to a boy wanting to become a scout.
The Scoutmaster will be at the Scout Hut from 5pm to 7pm to allow items to be dropped off items on Friday evening.
We’ll need scouts and parents at the Scout Hut no later than 6am to help get things set up for a 7am start on Saturday.
Troop 108 is now set up to allow parents to both register and pay for events online using our event registration system. The first event, the Troop 108 Bagwell Farm Campout, scheduled for July 22nd-24th, 2011 is already set up and waiting for scouts to register.
You can find event registration by clicking on the link in the “Next Troop Event” listing in the sidebar to the left or you can see all available events by clicking on the “Registration” link in the website pages listing in the sidebar to the left.
We hope that this will help streamline our event registration and payment system to everyone’s benefit.
We’ll meet parents at Bi-Lo.
