BSA Announces Merit Badge Emblem Size Change

larger-merit-badges-comparison

The Boy Scouts of America confirmed rumors of changes to the size of merit badge emblems.   For many years the emblems have been 1.5 inches across and they are now being increased to 2.25 inches across.

You can read the whole story of what lead to the change by clicking here.

This will make it easier for the aging troop and district committee members to see the merit badges on the sashes of scouts who are up for review and put the ongoing controversy regarding the “upside down” first aid merit badge to rest.

Scouts – Make Your Summer Camp Merit Badge Selections ASAP

scouts-camping-funnyScouts,  if you’re planning to attend summer camp with Troop 108 at Camp Ho-Non-Wah in Charleston, SC from July 5th through 11th then you need to make your merit badge class selections.

Use the merit badge grid found in the link below to make your selections for each of the available class sessions.  Note that some classes extend across multiple sessions.  First year scouts typically are automatically signed up for the first-year scouting program that helps give them a real boost on working through the first few scouting ranks.

Get your class selections to a leader at an upcoming meeting as soon as is possible.  More information on camp and costs will be going out to parents in the very near future.
