Keep Matthew H in your prayers

Long before many of you wake up on Monday the 22nd of June, Matthew H will have already been in surgery for a while.     He will be having a proceedure to correct the formation of his chest cavity.   It is called the Nuss Procedure and will keep his ribs and sternum from pressing in on his heart and lungs as he continues to mature.

There is a link on the right side of the troop’s website to Matthew’s Caringbridge webpage where you can read about his procedure and get an update on his progress.   Feel free to sign his guestbook too, if your parents allow.

Matthew is currently planning to attend summer camp with the troop in late July, but will be limited in the activities he can participate in.

Additional updates will be added to the bottom of this post, so keep checking back in.

========================

1:37PM   –   GREAT NEWS!   Mr. Art just called and advised that Matthew’s surgery went great and that Matthew was recovering and was “laid back” thanks to pain medication.   He’ll remain somewhat sedated for a couple of days while he does some initial healing and then, if he continues to do well, he’ll be cut loose to return to home.
