It is that time of year again. Time to make the annual payment to remain a chartered member of the Boy Scouts of America.
There have been some changes to the troop rechartering process this year. As you may have heard, the national fee and insurance costs have increased again this year. These are fees that the troop collects and then forwards on to the council and national BSA offices. In addition to those fees, the troop annual fee has been $20 which covers troop equipment purchase and maintenance, awards and badges, and other expenses that the troop may have throughout the year.
This year the troop adult leaders have decided to decrease our portion of the recharter fee to only $15 to help keep scouting affordable for our scouts. Essentially the “all-in” rechartering fee for 2019 will remain as $60 total (plus a $2.10 paypal fee, if paid online).
Troop 108’s recharter deadline (essentially the deadline for getting all of our scouts signed up to participate in 2019) has been moved to the first day of December rather than the end of December as in year’s past. Scouts need to make sure that their rechartering fees are paid no later than December 1st, 2018.
The troop will be unable to front the cost of rechartering for scouts who have not paid their rechartering fees in full by the deadline. Scouts not paid in full will not be rechartered with the troop, but can be added back to the troop’s active roster at a later time once the fees are paid.
Scouts that are unpaid will not be re-registered with the troop as the troop is unable to front the money for scouts. Assistance is available for scouting families needing help. Please contact the Scoutmaster for more information.

The troop cannot afford to register scouts who have not paid their registration fee after today’s deadline. Scouts can always complete a BSA application and re-register at a later time at the same rate.

Each year in December the troop has to recharter our members. This requires scouts and leaders to pay the fees needed to continue their membership for the coming year. The deadline for payment is December 1st 2016.
Two options for payment are being offered:
- a 1/2 payment option which allows members to make two separate payments of one half of the total amount (plus PayPal fees)
- a full payment option which allows members to make a single payment in the full amount (plus Paypal fees)
Total cost for registration is $50 and this covers the BSA annual membership renewal as well as maintenance for troop equipment, the purchase of new troop equipment, badges and awards that our scouts earn and more.
Note that the troop is no longer able to front the money for scouts who have not completed payment in full for their annual membership prior to December 1st, 2016. We have extended this courtesy in the past and have not gotten paid back in some cases. To prevent this from occurring in the future, the practice is being discontinued.

It is time for the members of Troop 108 to recharter for the upcoming year. The annual cost of rechartering for our scouts is $50 and can be paid online using the link below (paypal fee will be added) or in person at upcoming meetings. The total fee of $50 per scout must be paid by the troop’s Court of Honor on December14th, 2015
The troop will no longer front the fee to recharter scouts, so scouts who have not paid their recharter fee by the end of the Court of Honor will not be signed up as a member of the troop for 2016.

New Webelos scouts and their families, we welcome you to the Troop 108 family and look forward to helping your scout to grow and advance in scouting and in life.
Here are a few things that will help your scout transition into the troop:
Dues: Each member of the troop pays their annual re-charter fee in December of each year. As new members of the troop, your fee amount has been reduced to $40.00 and can either be paid in cash at a troop meeting or my using the payment button below (which actually charges $1.50 extra to cover transaction fees).

Medical Forms: The troop needs a copy of your scout’s medical form (at least Parts A & B until summer camp) before they can participate in activities other than troop meetings.
Upcoming Campout: Registration for the camp out has been extended through Wednesday evening, March 11th, 2015. You can register online using the registration form in an earlier post.
Summer Camp: See the earlier post regarding our troop’s summer camp plans and payment buttons. It will be a lot of fun and our newest members will be able to participate in a program that will really help move them along the path towards First Class rank and earn a couple of other merit badges as well.

It is time to re-register your scout(s) in the Boy Scouts and Troop 108 for another year. Troop 108’s annual fee for re-registration is $50.00 per scout. The troop committee has agreed that this can be broken up into two equal payments using the appropriate PayPal buttons below, or can be paid in full by using that specific PayPal button below.
As always, the troop treasurer also accepts cash as payment. Note that PayPal fees have been added to the base amount of each payment below to cover the cost of using the PayPal service.
The December payment needs to be made prior to December 31st, 2014, and the January payment needs to be made prior to January 31st, 2015.
