2017 Shrine Bowl Service Opportunity

Each year Troop 108 scouts travel to Gibbs Stadium at Wofford College in Spartanburg to assist by selling programs and concessions at the annual Shrine Bowl game.  This year will we will do it all again.

As an added plus, we always stop at the Peach Blossum Restaurant for a hearty roadside breakfast on the way down and then top off the day with a gastrointestinal experience at the Beacon Restaurant in Spartanburg before returning home.

We will plan on leaving Unity Presbyterian Church at 7am and returning about 7pm on Saturday, December 16th, 2017.  Be sure to dress warmly and bring money for breakfast, snacks (lunch is provided by the Shriners) and then supper on the way home.

Dress is full official Boy Scout uniform with a troop scouting t-shirt underneath.  Scouts will be able to earn service hours to apply toward rank where applicable.

Troop 108 To Be In The Fort Mill Christmas Parade on December 2nd

Scouts from Troop 108 are encouraged to walk in the Fort Mill Christmas Parade on December 2.  We will meet at Unity Presbyterian Church at 10am to find our spot in the parade lineup.

We will walk with the American Legion and assist with handing out candy to the kids along the parade route.  Leaders are encouraged to walk as well.

This is always a fun time and an opportunity to provide community service and to display the Scouting values.

Beach Sweep Info – What you need to know….

Those who have signed up to attend Beach Sweep need to know the following:

We will be meeting at Unity Presbyterian Church this Friday at 4:30PM and leaving out by 5PM.

Scouts should pack light (be sure to bring swimming trunks and a towel in addition to normal camping items).

Scouts need to set aside money for a fast food dinner on the way down and money for a fast food breakfast Sunday morning on the way home.  Scouts can also bring money for the snack bar and arcade located in the campground.

We are sending a crack team of adults with years of tent-pitching experience to set up camp for us so our tents will be setup and ready for us when we arrive in the dark.

Hurricane Irma doesn’t appear to be a factor in our event this year except for possibly some rain on the way home.  We will certainly keep an eye out on the storm this week and will adjust our plans accordingly.

Bagwell Farm Campout – February 17-19, 2017

We are very excited to announce that we will be having a patrol-based campout at Bagwell Farms located in McConnells, SC on Friday, February the 17th through Sunday the 19th. The cost is $15. We will be leaving the church by 5:00 and return by 1:00 on Sunday. It has been many years since we have been there and looking forward to finally go back.

This has always been a great campout and everyone has a fantastic time (ask the older scouts, they will tell you). Also if anyone needs some rank requirements items signed off, this outing presents an excellent opportunity to take care of that. Last day of sign up will be Monday, February 13th. Hope to see you all there.

School Night For Scouting 2014 – Your Help Needed

Come Join Cub Scouts – Come Have FUN!

The scouts and leaders of Troop 108 will be assisting our “little brothers”, Pack 108, with their School Night For Scouting efforts at Fort Mill Elementary School (192 Springfield Parkway, Fort Mill, SC) AND Doby Bridge Elementary School (4137 Dobys Bridge Rd, Fort Mill, SC) on Thursday, September 4th, 2014.  Our leaders will be helping to inform the new Cub Scout parents about the program and make sure that all new scout’s paperwork is filled out correctly.

We need some of our scouts to show up at each of the two schools about 6:30pm to work together to lead boys interested in joining Cub Scouts through some songs, skits and cheers.  Essentially we want you to help them see just how much fun scouting can be!  You should be finished up by 8pm.

This will be a great opportunity to help scouting in our community, have fun and earn a little service hour time as well.  If you have any questions, please contact Ben Ludolph or use the CONTACT US form on this site to send an email to the Scoutmaster.

The Palmetto Council has set up a great website that contains lots of great information for potential members.  It can be found here:
